Pakistan has extended the ban on Indian aircraft using its airspace until August 24, the Pakistan Airports Authority announced.
According to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), the restriction will remain in effect until 23:59 local time on August 24. The ban applies to all aircraft registered in India, as well as those owned, operated, or leased by Indian airlines and operators, including military aviation.
Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian aircraft after tensions with New Delhi escalated following an armed conflict between the two countries in May 2025. Since then, the restrictions have been repeatedly extended. The previous ban was set to expire on July 24.
The continued closure of airspace forces Indian airlines operating westbound flights to use longer routes, increasing fuel consumption and operational costs.
