The Russian side calls on everyone, including the United States, to focus on facilitating the political-diplomatic process around the Ukrainian conflict, said Alexey Fadeev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, at a briefing.

"We are also convinced that the logic of escalating the conflict through the military buildup of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is harmful and could lead to unpredictable consequences. The Russian side calls on everyone, including the United States, to objectively look at the monstrous crimes committed by Kyiv using Western weapons (...) and to focus efforts on facilitating the political-diplomatic process, rather than continuing the bloodshed," he said.

Fadeev recalled that "the Russian side has consistently advocated for an end to the pumping of Kyiv with various weapons systems and military equipment by countries, primarily NATO."

"And we constantly emphasize that without such Western assistance, the Kyiv regime, which still seeks to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, would not have been able to carry out terrorist attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure. This position was once again conveyed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during the talks held on July 23 in Manila," the diplomat noted.
