This was reported by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during a meeting with Eduard Zigrist, Vice President of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).

According to the head of state, alongside the development of a unified tariff model, the parties are implementing a number of key infrastructure projects, including expanding the fleet of cargo ships on the Caspian Sea, carrying out dredging operations jointly with Azerbaijan, and modernizing the port of Kuryk.

The sides also discussed prospects for cooperation in transport and logistics. Particular attention was paid to increasing the level of containerization, which is expected to contribute to significant growth in cargo turnover.

Tokayev highly appreciated the presence in the Kazakh market of one of the world leaders in container shipping, noting that today the development of the Middle Corridor is a strategic priority for the country.

The President of Kazakhstan also welcomed the company's interest in investing in port infrastructure on the Caspian coast, emphasizing that such projects will significantly enhance the route's competitiveness and contribute to the growth of cargo volumes between Asia and Europe.

In turn, Zigrist presented the company's long-term investment plans in Kazakhstan, which include investments in logistics terminals, railway assets, port infrastructure, maritime services, and cargo air transportation.
