Such expectations were voiced by experts of the Dutch financial group ING. According to analysts at ING Group, Azerbaijan's regulator may leave the key rate unchanged at 6.5% throughout next year.
At the same time, a reduction of 50 basis points to 6% is forecast for 2028.
It is worth recalling that the Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan at its last meeting on June 24 decided to keep the key rate at the current level of 6.5%.
It should be noted that in 2025, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan held 8 meetings at which the key rate was considered. During six of them, the parameter remained unchanged, and at two meetings a decision was made to reduce it by 25 basis points each time. In 2026, the regulator also plans 8 meetings on the key rate. The next review of the interest rate corridor parameters is scheduled for July 31.
