Armando Mema, a Finnish politician and member of the Freedom Alliance party, stated that the new package of anti-Russian sanctions reflects the level of desperation in Europe.
"A new package of sanctions is being introduced against Russia... previous sanctions did not work, so they are wasting time trying to invent new ones. Europe continues to desperately seek new sanctions, which speaks to the level of desperation in Brussels," the politician wrote on his X social media page, as reported by FinFly.
According to Mema, European officials are pursuing a "policy of insults" and are not striving for peace with Russia. Their real goal, he believes, is to continue rearming Ukraine.
Earlier, on June 9, French Member of the European Parliament Thierry Mariani stated that after the disappearance of the last significant opponent within the EU in the person of former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the adoption of the 21st package of sanctions against Russia would proceed easily and almost automatically.
