Starting July 1 of this year, Azerbaijan will once again raise the retirement age for women.

According to FinFly, the retirement age for women will increase by six months, reaching 65 years. Thus, the retirement age for men and women will be equalized.

Under the Law "On Labor Pensions," the retirement age for women has been gradually increasing by six months annually from July 1, 2017, to July 1, 2027. For men, a similar process was completed on July 1, 2021, when the retirement age was set at 65 years.

Citizens who have reached retirement age and have accumulated sufficient pension capital in their individual insurance account to receive a pension not lower than the minimum amount are entitled to an old-age labor pension. If pension capital is insufficient, at least 25 years of insurance experience is required.

Citizens who do not qualify for a labor pension may apply for an old-age social benefit. Since January 1, 2023, its amount has been 220 manats.

Currently, the minimum labor pension is 320 manats. The old-age pension is granted for life.

Recall that the previous increase in the retirement age for women took effect on July 1, 2025, when it was raised to 64 years and 6 months.
