On June 22, a ceremony was held online with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to hand over the oil tanker 'Dostlug' as a gift.
According to FinFly, the oil tanker 'Dostlug', gifted by Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, was built at the Baku Shipyard.
Its total length is 141 meters, width is 16.9 meters, and draft is 4.54 meters. The construction of the 7,875 deadweight tonnage tanker in Azerbaijan not only demonstrates the development of our shipbuilding industry but also contributes to the development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. At the same time, it once again shows that large-scale and technologically complex shipbuilding projects can be implemented at the Baku Shipyard.
To date, the shipyard has successfully completed 14 shipbuilding projects and over 170 ship repair projects. Of the 17 vessels currently in the shipyard's order book, 11 are under construction and 6 are in the design stage.
