Gasoline and diesel fuel supplied from Azerbaijan have become a significant contribution to Armenia's energy security, President Ilham Aliyev said at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin.
According to the head of state, after the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the initialing of a peace agreement and the signing of a Joint Declaration at the White House with the participation of US President Donald Trump, the conflict that lasted more than 30 years was effectively ended.
"Azerbaijan immediately after this agreement moved to practical steps. The gasoline and diesel fuel that Azerbaijan supplies to Armenia today are a very big contribution to Armenia's energy security. Especially considering that today, due to certain reasons, there are many problems related to the export and import of petroleum products. The dispatch of transit cargo to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan has gained wide scope. To date, more than 40,000 tons of cargo have passed through the territory of Azerbaijan," the head of state added.
