A delegation led by Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) Rovshan Rustamov, during a working visit to Russia, held bilateral meetings with the management of Russian Railways (RZD) as well as trilateral negotiations with the participation of heads of railway administrations of Russia and Iran.

During the meetings, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for expanding mutual cooperation, the development of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), increasing the efficiency of the route, and boosting freight traffic volumes.

The sides also considered opportunities for cooperation in accelerating digitalization processes along the entire corridor and implementing modern digital solutions.

Following the trilateral meeting, a corresponding protocol was signed.

At the meeting with the management of the Russian railway administration, issues of human capital development were also discussed. The parties exchanged views on strengthening personnel potential between ADY and RZD.

As part of the visit, a meeting with Russian cargo shippers was also held. During the meeting, information was presented on ADY's safe and sustainable transport and logistics services for cargo transportation along the East-West and North-South routes. Additionally, the expanding capabilities of the Astara terminal located on the North-South route, as well as its potential in cargo handling, were presented.

Furthermore, cargo owners were shown the capabilities of the Cargo Tracking digital platform, which provides operational management of freight transportation and transparency of the transport process, as well as other digital solutions of ADY.

The parties noted that joint initiatives will contribute to the further development of the International North-South Transport Corridor.
