Special attention was paid to the dynamics of tourist exchanges. According to the Uzbek side, in the first five months of 2026, about 18,000 Italian citizens visited the country, indicating growing interest in Uzbekistan.

The participants considered opportunities for cooperation in areas such as cultural and creative tourism, management of World Heritage sites, development of gastronomic projects, and promotion of new tourist routes.

Also discussed were measures to create more comfortable conditions for European tourists, including attracting well-known Italian hotel chains and restaurant brands to the Uzbek market. The parties cited the launch of direct air service between the two countries by Italian carriers as a key factor in increasing tourist flow.

In addition, the interlocutors touched on issues of developing the tourism potential of Uzbekistan's regions. In particular, they discussed the preparation of master plans and long-term strategies for the Fergana Valley, Kashkadarya, and Surkhandarya regions with the participation of Italian consulting companies.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to implement joint educational programs for training and advanced training of guide-interpreters proficient in Italian, which will improve the quality of tourism services in the country.
