As part of the metro line separation project implemented by Baku Metro CJSC, train service between the '28 May' and 'Nizami' stations will be suspended until construction work is completed.

This was reported by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA).

According to the information, considering the difficulties that will arise due to the lack of direct connection between the '28 May' and 'Nizami' stations, a decision was made to organize additional support measures on surface transport.

"Thus, AYNA envisages measures to create additional express lines and strengthen existing ones. Since the start of the project, 6 new express bus routes will be launched in various directions, and the number of vehicles on a number of existing routes will also increase," the statement said.

It is noted that bus service will be adapted to the metro's operating hours — from 06:00 to 00:00.

New express lines:

M1 – between metro stations 'Elmlar Akademiyasy' and '28 May'

M2 – between metro stations 'Inshaatchylar', 'Nizami' and '28 May'

M3 – between metro stations '20 Yanvar', 'Nizami' and '28 May'

M4 – between metro stations '20 Yanvar' and 'Koroglu'

M5 – between metro stations '20 Yanvar' and 'Ganjlik'

M6 – between metro stations 'Elmlar Akademiyasy' and 'Ganjlik'.

Additionally, the number of buses will be increased and intervals reduced on routes No. 2, 6, 7A, 9, 10, 14, 17, 18, 26, 61, 65, 79, 85, 88, 88A, 93, 133, 165, 199 and 202. During the closure of the metro section, an increase in the number of buses on other routes is also envisaged if additional demand arises.

Passengers can obtain information about alternative routes using the mobile application 'AYNA MaaS'.

During the project implementation, volunteers will provide informational support to passengers near the metro stations '28 May', '20 Yanvar', 'Inshaatchylar' and 'Elmlar Akademiyasy'.
