Global central banks increased the amount of gold in their gold and foreign exchange reserves by 51.1 tons in June 2026, according to estimates by the World Gold Council (WGC).

As noted by WGC analyst Marissa Salim, Poland and China continue to lead in gold accumulation volumes (18.6 tons and 14.9 tons in June, respectively), with China marking its twentieth consecutive month of gold purchases.

Also actively buying gold in June were Uzbekistan (8.7 tons), Kazakhstan (7.2 tons), Singapore (6.6 tons), Jordan (3.1 tons), and the Czech Republic (1.6 tons).

The largest sellers remained Russia (minus 9.3 tons, according to WGC calculations) and Turkey (2.1 tons).
