Decisions to suspend money transfers from Azerbaijan to Russia via the Golden Crown payment system are made based on mutual agreement between banks and payment systems. This was reported by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

"Cooperation between banks and payment systems is carried out on the basis of mutual agreement of the parties, and the Central Bank does not interfere in these relations. Decisions regarding relations between banks and their partners are made by banks independently, taking into account local legislation requirements and various risk factors," the CBA noted.

The Central Bank also recommended addressing this issue directly to the organization operating the payment system or to banks that had business relations with this payment system.

It should be noted that in recent days, media reported a temporary suspension of money transfers from Azerbaijan to Russia via the Golden Crown payment system. A number of banks stated that the service is unavailable due to technical reasons. Unibank and Yelo Bank reported that cooperation with the Golden Crown system continues, but due to technical issues, money transfers to Russia are currently temporarily not carried out. On the official website of the payment system, Azerbaijan is also not listed among countries sending or receiving funds.
