Azerbaijan and Georgia have begun implementing an electronic permit system (E-Permit) for international road freight transport.
This was reported by Report, citing the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA).
According to the information, in line with the agreement reached, a working group consisting of representatives from relevant agencies of both countries started technical work on system integration on May 1, and the process has been successfully completed.
To begin active implementation of the system, the parties initially exchanged 1,000 bilateral, 1,000 transit, and 1,000 electronic permit forms for third countries, and have started issuing them to carriers.
Previously, the electronic permit system was successfully applied with Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.
Carriers can obtain electronic permit forms by logging into the portal e-xidmet.ayna.gov.az.
