President Ilham Aliyev has approved a law introducing amendments to the Customs Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The text of the document was published on the official website of the head of state.
According to the amendment, for imported goods for which technical regulations and reference standards have been adopted, a certificate of conformity, a declaration of conformity, and recognized documents of conformity of foreign origin, drawn up in accordance with the Law "On Technical Regulation," must be submitted to customs authorities and verified during customs clearance.
These requirements will apply to imported goods only two years after the entry into force of both the relevant technical regulations and reference standards.
President Ilham Aliyev also signed a decree on the application of the amendments to the Customs Code. According to the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers must, within six months, prepare and submit to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan proposals on the amounts and procedure for assigning additional payments, compensations, allowances, and other payments related to the material and social security of customs officials.
